5056 Aluminum Bar

The 5056 Aluminum Bar is a high-performance AlMg5 alloy bar widely used in industrial and structural applications due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio, and weldability. It belongs to the 5000 series aluminum family, featuring magnesium as a key alloying element (typically 4.5–5.6 % Mg), which enhances its resistance to seawater and other corrosive environments.

Available in multiple forms — round, flat, square, hexagonal, and custom extruded profiles — the 5056 bar can be supplied in a range of tempers including O (soft) and various H-tempers (e.g., H32, H34, H36, H38, H112), allowing customization of mechanical properties to suit machining, forming, and structural requirements.

Its good machinability and excellent weldability make the 5056 aluminum bar ideal for marine engineering (hulls, decks), aerospace structural components, automotive frames and parts, pressure vessels, and general industrial applications where corrosion resistance and lightweight strength are critical.
